The Inland Revenue Department has opened the electronic filing window for the fiscal year 2083/84 income tax returns. Individual taxpayers, firms and companies can now access the return forms through the online portal, upload supporting statements and settle any balance due within the same system, with the department urging early submission to avoid end-of-season congestion. The filing calendar appears in the standard pattern. While the system opens early, the statutory last date remains as published, and returns submitted by that date are accepted without penalty. Taxpayers expecting refunds, chiefly those whose taxes were fully withheld, are expressly encouraged to file first so their claims move to the front of the verification pipeline. The department also reminded staff and payroll officers that their withholding certificates must match the amounts remitted monthly under each PAN. Mismatches between the certificate and the department's own records are the leading cause of employee refund delays. Karkakura will list changes to the published deadlines the moment the department confirms them.
