प्यान परीक्षण अभियान
The Inland Revenue Department will run a system-wide PAN verification drive beginning next month, asking taxpayers to confirm their registration details match the identity documents held on file. Individuals and businesses alike are urged to check their name, address and bank details through the online portal and to correct mismatches within the designated period. The drive targets the stale registrations that complicate refunds and vendor checks. Registration records that no longer match a valid identity, old addresses and outdated bank details have historically blocked payments and delayed supplier verification by customers. The department states that verified records will process faster and that corrections made voluntarily carry no charge. Businesses should act through their accountant before the drive's deadline, since unverified tax identification numbers may be flagged in the customer-facing skip. Karkakura's guidance: run the check at the portal, update the detail, and print the confirmation for the file. The exercise is short, free and, unlike a surprise assessment, entirely scheduled on terms the taxpayer can control.
